A really great place, if you want 1 star food,1 star accommodation. only place I've ever been to where I've caught pneumonia staying inside. if you want a better holiday go with Haven the all inclusive here is not good value for money.

Great place great people. If you want to see great works of art go to Louvre, if you want great views go to Victoria Falls and if you want great food give Gordon Ramsey a call. It’s a military base and the people that work there are great company. The base itself has a weird beauty about it because of its set up and size.

Great base, food is varied and tasty, with a fantastic shop too! Cinema once or twice a week and a bowling alley to be opened soon! Only problem is how far away it is from anything else, although you can get almost everything you need on base.

Very fond memories of making regular visits to The Trident Club circa 1980.
We must have been there around 6 or 7 times…
I was the drummer in a Manchester band that played regularly in the club. Singing Bohemian Rhapsody etc;
Believe it or not, after lugging a Yamaha electric grand piano, a 7 piece drum kit, guitars, amps, and full P.A. system up the 4 flights of stairs there, we still had the energy to do the gig after we’d set up.
On one visit I thought I recognised a young woman there who looked like a girl I’d met in Altrincham near where I lived in Manchester.
I told her she reminded me of someone I’d briefly talked to in Altrincham a couple of years back, she said “That WAS me!”
After getting over the shock and coincidence of bumping into each other again so many miles away from ‘Alty’ in such a remote place as Helensburgh, I bought her a drink and chatted a bit, even got on the dance floor for a bop, until a jealous dude almost bopped ME for making a move on his territory.
Don’t know whether the club is still going these days though.
All I remember was that she was a bit of a looker 🥁🥰

Fantastic stuff, looking forward to seeing the new Dreadnought class subs sometime in the future. This location is somewhere for the libtards and other far left moaners to proclaim a waste of money, but forget the income generated locally from workers, crews, support staff and such massively help the local economy which would collapse without it.

Haven't experienced WiFi this bad since 2003, has a naffi that has rubbish working hours for the fact 95% of the time, people are working the same hours.

Buses never stick to schedules which makes it a nightmare.

Bars smoking area is about a 5 minute walk away.

Most places on base don't take card, most cashpoints empty pretty quickly.

24 Hour nuclear deterrence 365 days a year! And it’s totally legal too. Technically a sovereign area so it’s not part of Scotland (if required) Everyone loves this place, it gives the liberal people something to complain about! It supports the local towns who would collapse without it. Ray, and Mr Irving it’s not going anywhere so learn to enjoy!
