Simply the best service ever. Do u know that they put sweaters together if you don't know how? I was in a panic. I am a novice knitter. I made my first sweater as a gift for my 90 year old mum. I ran out of time and asked if they could help, not to mention it was Thursday and I needed my Saturday. The sweater looked great. Lovely owner. I buy all my wool from her. Love living in a small town.

Not only is this an awesome store with an array of local hand dyers, various wool and notions and excellent customer service but now they have a “garment rejuvenation” service where the can clean, block, mend, finish etc all you cherished knits! I had this poncho made from very expensive Canadian wool which I snagged and tore and String Theory’s new service fixed it licketty split and beautifully as well!

We stopped in for the Fergus Fibre Festival to support the shop/organizer. What an event! Loads of Ontario businesses, fantastic spread inside ST shop. The shop is curated with fabulous yarns and notions to meet varied budgets and projects.

The store is absolutely massive and features a lovely area for knitters to sit and knit for a bit.

Great shop (and festival) we can’t wait to return soon.

Here in Fergus, we are blessed to have our very own little yarn shop. Not only is the owner Miranda such a personable soul, she has opened up a whole new world of yarn crafts to so many people. A wonderful new yarn shop in historic Fergus, Ontario. If you love to crochet and/or knit and are looking for beautiful high quality yarn and accessories, then look no further. Order on-line or visit the store in-person to see the amazing selection for yourself. I bought myself a couple of adorable needle felting kits...the finished product certainly isn't perfect, but it was fun. I may be addicted now.

String Theory has a new service Knitwear Care Services. I got my Donegal knit vest repaired, washed and restored beautifully. I did not have the heart to toss it when it was damaged by moths. I took it to Miranda and she brought it back to its former beauty for me!

I was in Fergus and just HAD to stop into the LYS, String Theory. I needed some help matching yarn colours and Miranda was so awesome! She showed me all kinds of options and found one I really liked. Such great customer service. I also scored some nice rustic wool from the sale basket. I was so excited with that find, I forgot to get the other yarn I wanted, LOL! I guess that means another trip to Fergus 😉 I've also marked my calendar for the Fibre Festival 2024!
